My husband snores very loud and I don't get much sleep. We are looking into getting one of those mouth guards that are supposed to stop the snoring.. Has anyone out there used one and if so, did it work? Thanks!

not very well!
Give your answer to this question below!
Not always, because the user often takes it out during the night! Some people can't tolerate it at all. So there is a simple procedure to cure it called somnoplasty.
ReplyDeleteSnoring is not just a nuisance for your bedmate (or, in extreme cases, for your neighbor). It can be a sign of a serious medical disorder called sleep apnea. The first issue to address regarding chronic snoring is whether this is a symptom of sleep apnea. Next you can figure out how to stop snoring.
ReplyDeleteUse a single low pillow. Sleeping on too many pillows can stretch and narrow the nasal passage. If, however, you are congested, elevate the head by placing books under the mattress to encourage better drainage.
i think they do
ReplyDeleteI have found they work for people who snore whether they are sleeping on their back or sides.
ReplyDeleteThey work by keeping the mouth in the right position and closed. Some people find them great and others uncomfortable. There are over the counter mouth guards you can try first to see if your husband will tolerate a mouth piece and whether he can keep it in all night. The best mouth guards though are individually made by dentists. They are molded to fit perfectly.
So my advice is check out the over the counter products first after all they are low cost and may just do the job and your husband may or may not find them okay to wear.
If you get some relief then go for the expensive one
