How can I stop myself from snoring?

Question by Chocolate Kiss: How can I stop myself from snoring?
It's like all of a sudden I began snoring. Its gotten so bad I can't take a nap in class or anywhere without anyone hearing me.

you probably have a deviated septum. Have that checked out

  1. Sounds to me like your body is upright and this is a "dozing off" kind of snoring.

    This kind of snoring happens because your uvula vibrates when your muscles relax.

    One simple way is to buy a mouthpiece that protrudes your lower jaw forward so that you don't snore when napping / sleeping.

    Sometimes it can be just stress or a lack of rest. It could sometimes be a symptom of a weight issue. If this is the case, some exercise would help.

    There are various causes of snoring so you may want to explore further into the issue.

  2. At night, you can try the tennis ball trick. Most people who snore do so while sleeping on their back. Place the ball behind you so that when you roll over, it wil nudge you back onto your side. At school, you might try a decongestant. Many people snore because of undiagnosed allergies which cause congestion. You should also take a snoring test to try to isolate why you are snoring before you assume it is a deviated septum or some other problem. Good luck to you.
