I'm keeping my boyfriend awake at night and he's getting really grumpy. I don't want it to effect our relationship and I don't want him to sleep in the spare room!
He thinks it's because I'm a ''mouth breather'' but my breathing is not so good through my nose so I don't know what I can do about it.

Pls see a doctor

You should go to a sleep clinic. They will do tests on you to see what your situation is. Most insurance co. will pay for this too because it has a severe effect on the rest of your health.I wouldn't recommed taking any OTC medicine until you see a doctor though.
ReplyDeleteLose weight, sleep on your side, get more sleep- depravation can make you moretired and sleep harder- leads to snoring, ask a doctor.
ReplyDeleteREALLY, ask a doctor... They can check your passages.
Try BREATHE RIGHT strips OR the Snore relief wash.

Good luck, happy sleeping
Steps :
ReplyDelete1. Clean yr nose before u sleep. 2. Put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on yr pillow to open yr nostrils 3. use a slightly higher pillow.4 practice breathing exercises from yoga, 5. buy a pair of ear plugs for yr friend 6. Lastly , Get into another room after he's asleep before he strangles u.
Use those patches that go on top of your nose. They work good.
ReplyDeleteFirst, if he truly loves you, he will ENCOURAGE you to see a Dr. and perhaps do a Sleep Study. My husband was a snorer for the first 15 years of our 17 year marriage. It got worse and worse. It was hard not to get upset due to the lack of sleep, but I was more concerned about his health. I asked him to go to an ENT Specialist and see about a sleep study. Sure enough, he would quit breathing more than half the time he was asleep, causing his oxygen levels to fall into the dangerous zone.
ReplyDeleteI am not a counselor, but having dated a few times, and finally finding a good man,,,, I would use his "grumpiness" about a possible health situation for you, as a caution flag. Enough said about that.
Just talk to your Dr. and get some info about a sleep study. Also make sure the sleep center is a great one. They are popping up everywhere and so check them out. I do feel for you and hope you get better.
