How do I stop my husbands snoring?

Question by Adri V: How do I stop my husbands snoring?
My husband snores every night. I have been living on at most 3hrs of sleep (the amt of time from when he goes to work and our 4 yr old gets up). Needless to say I feel like crap. I am one night away from murder or death. He drinks, uses niquil, and has gaind some lbs. none of which I can fix (I've tried). I need something to help me before I beat him to death with a pillow.

  1. Get him to lose weight. My dad snored before he lost weight and when he lost weight he stopped snoring. Too bad my dad gained all of that weight back though...

  2. hahaha.. i could feel your pain as i could remember my ordeal before with my ex bf, i wanted to press his nose so he would choke to death! have him consult a doctor, sounds like he has sleep apnea which is not healthy. or tap him to let him know he's snoring

losing weight is not the perfect solution cause there are skinn y people who still snore like hell!

  4. Lol...try those nose strips, you can get them from the chemist. My Dad at 75 uses them after snoring for 60 odd years...it was magic, we could no longer hear him from the other room, and my mother has never looked so refreshed. I personally use one of those special snore proof memory foam pillows. It cost me about $ 25 australian, but it is the absolute best thing I have ever used...I apparently havent snored at all since I got it (and I used to snore quite a bit due to sinus).
Personally though, I would go for the pillow over the face...stops all snoring, wingeing, whining, and demands for sex!! mwuahahahaha!!

  6. if you really want your sleep put his ass on the couch,,if he realy loves you he willbe receptive to your needs for sleep if not put your asson the couch...(lol)..depends on how much you want sleep..i snore as well and regardless of how much i love feeling my girlfriends sexy body next to me i eventually go to the couch ina daze .i get 3 elbow nudges in the side or back each nite..to let me know im snoring ,,the agreement since we care about one another as im sure you guys do as well.on the 3rd one i go to the couch.onc eim asleep i actually get my rest..either you go or he gos to couch or rotate each nite or week.also tell him to telhimsefin his head /thoughts as heslying there "i willnot snore tonite",sometimes it works more often than not per my reports from my bedmate...something like programming your subconscious..might work does for me..not always but enough that i try ..i know its usuallya mechanical problem with heavier setmen in the back of their airways,,that causesit..he may needa machinecalled acpap/bipap machine.to help him.as time goeson.the more serious aspect of his noring is he could obstruct his airway/and develope a thing called sleep apnea or "stop breathing'/he should have asleep study done at hospital or drs.office..to make sure he isnt "stopping breathing" briefly at nite..because the deeper you sleep in snoring your co2 could climb to dangerous levels..and actually give you co2 narcosis wich is basically like giving yourself a "sleeping" pills overdose chemically in your brain..and it could make the breathing become so shallow that he stops all together/this is my opinion only not medical adviceand shouldntbe constued as such!! seek a doctors opinion on this matter.good luck!! the cpap/or bipap mx pressurizes the airway and helpskeep the airway open more effectively/it humms a little at nite so you may still end up needing a sepaerate bed.or couch/most insurance or medicade pays for it..if needed per drs.reccomendation/but if needed will keep your loved one with you longer/also maybee weight loss may help/i lost 40 pnds snoring stopped//put a lot back on 2 yrs later snoring is back!!..goodluck!!

  7. UNFORTUNATELY nothing works as far as:patches, sprays, KICKING him -he will only RE start after 3 seconds!!or his losing weight or stop drinking..my husband is fit NEVER drinks and snores horribly.i am thinking of getting a small folding bed to sleep in at night...lack of sleep can drive one mad.

  8. I work in the office next-door to these guys and they seem pretty legit:

I've seen a poster in their office of some sort of thing that's supposed to increase airflow and reduce snoring.

...Or you could go with my Mom's theory: She says snoring is caused when a man's balls sag far enough that they block his bum-hole and create a vapor-lock, so whenever my stepdad snores she just reaches over and jiggles his balls a little bit.
