How can I stop my snoring?

Question by Greg: How can I stop my snoring?
I keep snoring and my girlfriend absolutely hates it. She tells me that she has to nudge me every 5 minutes to shut me up, I've tried nasal strips that don't work. Any suggestions?

try the breathe away strips. You may also want to look into it with a doctor. My hubby was bad at that and we found out that he had one side of his nostrils closed. He can smell now and snoring has stopped with the strips..lol

  1. I had the exact same question a few months ago. I did some research and made some purchases. I've tried strips, pillows, teas, and methods with tennis balls. Nothing worked, the best answer that I found to the my snoring problem is this mouth piece by AntiSnore (on Ebay search snore relief sold by seller SC3902). It's like $ 29.00 and it lasts up to 24 months. I've been snoring for 14 years now (so my husband tells me) and the first night I tried it he told me that he thought I died cause I didn't make a sound.....everything was history after that. I would have to say that it is the best investment I have ever made. I hope this helps with your question.

  2. Lose some weight, sleep on your side, not on your back, don't drink any dairy milk or eat ice cream after 5pm, and find a workshop on the Buteko Technique (breathing). There's also a book on it " The Air We Breathe"
If you must have milk, change over to goat milk, it doesn't
cause mucus , and is better for you.
    All the best

  3. It could be sleep apnea. Do you get enough sleep? Are you tired all day? You may need a humidifier or you may need to keep the throat open by lifting your chin away from your chest. Are you overweight? See, those things make a difference. You could be closing off the throat, but it could also be the valve that covers the windpipe when you swallow does not cover the digestive tube securely and just flaps around when you lie down and breathe making you snore.

  4. Hey Greg. I have the same problem with my husband -- and nasal strips didn't work for him either. Typically, he only snores when he is really tired, but I came up with some other suggestions on how to help him stop snoring. I posted them on my blog over at prevention.com :

Breathe Right strips are a big marketing con
Snoring is either throat or nasal caused
90% is throat caused so the maths is easy for the chances of sticking a plaster on your nose working
My partner was a terrible snorer and started wearing a Stop Snore Ring a few months ago
It's an acupressure ring worn on the little finger and it has stopped her snoring and her sinuses have cleared
It may sound an unlikely cure but if you check out their website there are literally hundreds of testimonials
It's cheap discreet and lasts indefinitely
